Hi good morning I guess the things that have been an issue have been the work around the scar to keep it mobile, the sternocostal joints, the fascia just inferior to the xyphoid process and the thoracic and shoulder complex manifestations with having the shoulder and scapula protracted for such a long time.I have mostly been doing abdominal massage to lengthen the abdomen, light massage and reiki on the chest and ribs.Thank you for sharing this post.

Hi Simon:
I had a quick look at your web site tonight and I liked what I read.
Could you provide me some information on costs of various massage options. Thanks.

I chose the Bovine Tissue Valve. It was a no brainer for me. I sat down with my surgeon and as I am still very active (just turned 40), that was the decision maker. The downsides with the mechanical valve/blood thinners and active people is too much of a life changer. I take lots of natural anti-inflammatories like ginger, tumeric, garlic to reduce inflammation that can shorten the life of the valve. If you find that you aren't too much of an active person, then the mechanical valve is a better route to go. Any other questions, email me anytime.
Take care and ttys,
Simon

I am 55 yrs otherwise healthy person going through diff time trying to make up my mind as to what kind of valve to use. Any information you can send me would greatly be appreciated.

That has been kind of a doozy. I guess the things that have been an issue have been the work around the scar to keep it mobile, the sternocostal joints, the fascia just inferior to the xyphoid process and the thoracic and shoulder complex manifestations with having the shoulder and scapula protracted for such a long time. At 8 weeks now, I still can't bring my arms back past my frontal plane. I've been limited to swedish techs to the pecs, shoulders and abs, muscle energy to the ribs and thoracic spine, gentle fascial release towards the scar. The craniosacral would be pretty cool too.

Since your vavle replacement what massage therapy have you found to be most helpful.. I have a client have been working with for the last 3 weeks. I have mostly been doing abdominal massage to lengthen the abdomen, light massage and reiki on the chest and ribs. Thai massage to allow the hips to fall open on their own. Lots of cranial sacral.
Thanks for your help

Namaste

Hey, I never found the computer room at the hospital!

What to look forward to: I just had a four hour nap in my own bed with a nice bedside electric fan and singing birds outside. And the food at home is sooooooo much better.

Hi, both to you Simon and Mrs. James

For your information, Mrs. James, I'm Simon's good friend Derek's father, and you may know that Derek has just had surgery related to colon cancer. We've known Simon for a number of years. My wife visited Simon a couple of days ago, since both he and Derek were at the hospital at the same time. Derek came home yesterday and will continue his treatment and recovery here.

We wish you, Simon, a speedy and full return to good health, as well as a quick return home. As they say, there's no place like home.
